I didn’t invent the bathysphere -- THAT Charles William Beebe died 4 months before I was born. But as a creative in web, print, identity, architectural, furniture and even some apparel design, I have tremendous respect for the inventions and life accomplishments of my namesake.
I built my first website in 1997. Since that time, the Web has morphed into an amazing social connector. I've watched some friends get into blogging, only to burn out later. Still others trimmed down to tweets and tumblogs. Meanwhile, I wrote away in my old-school paper journal, never wanting to "put it out there".
What changed? As a curious INTJ with a love for all things creative, I finally decided to give that (I)ntrovert thing a rest. It's been my Achilles heel for most of my life -- but no more. As I see it, the Internet is the beginning of a global mind. Why wouldn't I want to spark up my 'synapse worth'? More important than ego, though, I'm convinced collaboration is the only way we will save the planet. Division and cynicism are so 2011.
I hope you'll have a look around. And please, say hello if the mood strikes.
